The Information Center appears in the Kittanning Paper on Page 2 daily and is featured daily on WTYM AM 1380 / FM 103.7 radio. It promotes events held by non-profit organizations only.

SWISS STEAK DINNER on Friday, January 10 from 4-6PM at First Baptist Church, 2230 Center Avenue, near Lenape Elementary. This months dinner will be TAKE OUT ONLY.  NO DINING IN.  To order a meal for take out please call 724-954-0364.  Adults $10.00 and 5-12 years $5.00 and under 5 years is free.  Menu will be the same minus drinks.

GERRYMANDERING SEMINAR – Fair Districts PA, an all-volunteer, non-partisan, non-profit organization, is holding an informational event at the Vandergrift Public Library on Sat., Jan. 11th at 10:30 a.m. It will cover the history of gerrymandering, its impact on southwestern PA (focusing on Armstrong and Westmoreland counties) and ways to improve how districts are drawn. ASD MEETING – The Regular Monthly Meeting of the Board of School Directors of Armstrong School District will be held on Monday, January 13, at 7:30 PM in Room 2050 (Large Group Instruction Room) at West Hills Intermediate School, 175 Heritage Park Drive, Kittanning.

DO-IT-YOURSELF EVENT – Ford City Library will host DIY Thursday, January 16th at 6:00 pm. The make and take project will be scented bath bombs! Materials will be provided and this program is free, however pre-registration is required. To register, please call the library at 724-763-3591.

FCC LICENSING – The Fort Armstrong Wireless Association amateur radio club will be holding its quarterly license testing session on Saturday, January 18th at 2PM at the Outdoor Discovery Center at Crooked Creek. Parties interested in testing for their FCC amateur radio license are welcome. The fee is $15. Please visit www.fawa.us to register for the exam.

JANUARY JAM 2020 – January 18, starting at 4PM, Lenape Heights, Ford City. This is a fundraising event for Fostering Music featuring great local bands: Doppler Affect, The Bail Jumpers, Silver Lining, Shakedown, Black Forest Ham, Self Preservation, Applewold Ramble Band (Jaggerbush Hollow with a couple new additions), The Rumors, and a special appearance from the Shed Band! MISSIONS YARD SALE – The Huge 5th Annual Dominican Republic Missions Yard Sale will be held January 31 and February 1 from 8AM-3PM at 328 North Water Street, Kittanning. Items for sale include: tools, lawn mower, dryer, microwave, board games, clothes, books, glassware, knick knacks, ceramics, furniture, jewelry, raffle baskets, refreshments, and baked goods. HISTORICAL BOOK CLUB – The Ford City Library is introducing a new historical book club, set to begin on February 6th at 6PM. This book club will meet every 2 months on the first Thursday of the month at 6:00 pm. DUELING PIANOS – Piano Maniacs will present a special high-energy, interactive, funny show on February 7, at the Sugarcreek Fire Hall. Doors open at 6PM, show begins at 7PM.
