DIVORCE CLINIC – PA Safe Law will be hosting a free no-fault divorce clinic for survivors of domestic violence and other crimes at the Kittanning Public Library on September 19. Attorneys will help attendees fill out the appropriate paperwork and provide attendees with information and resources about the process for filing and completing a no-fault divorce between 10:30 AM and 4:30 PM. The clinic is not intended for complex divorces with issues of custody, spousal support and/or alimony; however, information may be available.
FLOWER IMPRINT TOTE BAGS – Ford City Library will host DIY Thursday on September 19 at 6PM. They will create tote bags decorated with imprinted flowers. Tote bags will be provided, and participants can bring their own flowers or use flowers provided by the library. This program is open to the public-library membership is not required. There is no fee, but a small donation to help cover expenses would be appreciated. Pre-registration is required as space is limited, so call today to reserve your spot at 724-763-3591.
SUNDAES ON SUNDAYS FREE CONCERT on Sunday, September 22 at 3PM. The Gibbons Big Band will be performing at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, 136 West Main Street, in Worthington. The band will perform music from the 30s and 40s and some recent music in the ‘big band style.” The Band will be playing music from the libraries of Glenn Miller, Harry James, Frank Sinatra, etc. Vocalists Kevin Gibbons and Rosann will add their voices to this exciting mix. The Gibbons Big Band has played mostly in Armstrong and Butler counties and also in Pittsburgh. Following the concert, free ice cream sundaes will be served. Handicap entrance at the side parking lot.
FALL BUFFET – St. Luke’s United Church of Christ Ladies Guild will sponsor its annual all-you-can-eat Fall Buffet (formerly called the Salad Bar Buffet) on Thursday, September 26, at 6PM. The event will be held at the church at 333 North McKean Street, Kittanning. The menu will include a wide variety of hot and cold food as well as many, many dessert choices. VFW SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST – The 2019 Voice of Democracy (VOD) scholarship is titled “What Makes America Great.” With winnings of up to $30,000 from local, district, state, and national levels, the VOD is open to students in 9th-12th grade.
