The Information Center appears in the Kittanning Paper on Page 2 daily and are featured daily on WTYM AM 1380 radio. It promotes events held by non-profit organizations only. Notices are run as “space available” each day, unless an ad is purchased to guarantee placement. If you would like to place an ad, call the KP office at 724-543-NEWS (6397).

 

KICK-OFF EVENT at the Richard G. Snyder YMCA Campus for their Strategic Plan
on Monday, February 27 at 2PM. They will share how they will be delivering their cause throughout the 2017-2019 timeframe. This event is free and open to the public.

FREE FAMILY FUN!Read Across America Day” at Dunkin Donuts in Kittanning (sponsored by Salvation Army, Kittanning). March 2nd – 4pm-6pm. Make a Dr. Seuss Craft. FREE Donut for children 13 & under. Each child will get to pick a new FREE Book to take home. Adults will receive a FREE Book as well!

BINGO Thursday, March 2 (and every Thursday), Kittanning Township Fire Hall, 4 miles east of Kittanning on Route 422 toward Indiana. Doors open at 5:30 PM, Bingo begins at 7:15 PM. Kitchen will be open.

2017 LOYALTY DAY QUEEN The Ford City VFW is looking to crown their 2017 Loyalty Day Queen on April 19 at 6:30 PM. The  applicant must be between the ages of 16-20, single (never married), and evening gown attire. Judging is on personality, poise, and beauty. Entry forms are due by March 14 (no exceptions). A non-returnable wallet size photo must be attached to your entry form along with three references (no relatives) of character and personal qualities. Those applying MUST be available for April 29 District Banquet, Memorial Day parade and Post ceremonies,  Fourth of July Parade, and Veterans Day ceremony. PROM DRESS A group is collecting local prom dresses for girls who are in need of one. Dress pick up is 3/25 from 4PM until 8PM, and 3/26 between 12-4PM. Their goal is 50 dresses by the March 17th. Call 724-763-3886

ARMSTRONG AFTER-PROM BOOSTER MEETING in the high school cafeteria, Wednesday, March 8. Parents of Juniors and Seniors are asked to attend to assist in planning a safe night for students.

ANNUAL BANQUET of the Armstrong County Sportsmen Conservation League will be held March 18 at 6PM at the Kittanning Township Fire Hall. It will feature a thresherman-style turkey dinner. Pennsylvania Game Commission Wild Turkey Biologist Mary Jo Casalena will be the keynote speaker. APOLLO POTPOURRI  The Apollo Area Historical Society invites the community to attend the first of their 2017 Sunday Evening Series “Apollo Potpourri” entitled “The 1936 St. Patrick’s Day Flood across the Alle-Kiski Valley” – a slideshow by Charles “Skip” Culleiton of the Alle-Kiski Valley Historical Society. It will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at the W.C. T. U. Building/Apollo Museum on N. 2nd. Street, Apollo. The program is free, but any donations are always welcome.
