VFW MEETING – There will be a special meeting for all Ford City VFW Post 4843 Life and Regular Members on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 6:00 PM. The focus of the meeting will be the hiring of a Home Association Clubroom Manager.
KENNYWOOD PICNIC – Ford City will have their annual picnic at Kennywood Park on Saturday July 20. There is a deadline of June 21 for tickets. SUMMER READING 2019 at the Kittanning Library is “A Universe of Stories”! We will be blasting off June 20th and landing August 1st. Our program runs for six weeks every Thursday from 10:30 until noon. Geared toward astronauts ages K-6th grade. We have great plans. Blast off begins with our magical magician Steve Haberman. Many guests include PETE THE CAT, Jennings Environmental Center, H2Oh! on the Go! Mobile, and crafts and stories. We offer prizes and other incentives for children to read throughout our program. STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL – As part of its 150th anniversary celebration, St. Luke’s United Church of Christ will host a Car Cruise in conjunction with its annual Strawberry Festival on June 22 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. The Car Cruise and Strawberry Festival will be held at the church on North McKean Street in Kittanning. A variety of food items will be available. Strawberry shortcake and sundaes will be featured. Cars, trucks and motorcycles are welcome at the cruise. The first seventy-five vehicles will receive a dash plaque and a goody bag. Registration is free, but donations will be appreciated. Cruise vehicles should enter at the intersection of North McKean and Vine Streets. Signs will be posted. Plenty of food, fun and fellowship.
