Carrie Underwood’s $20,000 donation to Armstrong High School was the buzz of social media – except the Armstrong School District didn’t know anything about it.
Superintendent Chris DeVivo said that he was surprised to learn of the donation that was orchestrated by Underwood’s charity and Dick’s Sporting Goods.
“I came into the office and started getting phone calls about it and I didn’t know what they were talking about. So I called Mr. Rummel to get the particulars,” DeVivo said following last night’s public meeting of school directors.
DeVivo said he still was not sure how the school district became the beneficiary.
