OBIT: Fred Sacco, 73 (Kittanning)

A local business owner has passed away. Fred Sacco, owner of Armstrong Beer in Kittanning, died on Monday.

SACCO – Frederick “Fred” Sacco, 73, of Kittanning died on October 7, 2019 at Presbyterian Hospital.

He was born in Indiana, PA on March 22, 1946, a son of Fred and ElVera (Senor) Sacco. He was a lifelong resident of the community. He owned and operated Armstrong Beer on South Jefferson Street in Kittanning since the early 1970s.

He was a member of the Ford City and Kittanning Eagles, Kittanning Men’s Club, Elks, C.U. Club, Polish Falcons, Latin American Club, Moose Lodge, Sons of Italy, Kittanning and Ford City VFW.

He loved talking to his customers at the beer distributor and watching his grandsons play football.

He is survived by his wife: Carol (Keeler) Sacco; daughter: Bonnie (Alan) Law of Kittanning and their two sons, Angelo and Ridley; and two brothers: Joseph (Cherie) Sacco of Kittanning and Frank (Karen) Sacco of Uniontown.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant sisters.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, from 7-9 PM, as well as Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Mantini Funeral Home, 701 Sixth Avenue, Ford City.

A Prayer Service will be held at 9:30 AM on Friday, October 11, 2019 at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10AM at St. Marys Our Lady of Gaudalupe Roman Catholic Church, 101 West High Street, Kittanning.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
