Pirates Get First Win Since April 20

Pittsburgh entered the night on an eight game losing streak and nearly made it nine. The Pirates trailed the Rangers 3-0 heading into the ninth but tied the game, forced extras and won 6-4 in 11 innings. In the last inning, Adam Frazier’s run-scoring infield single led to Josh Bell’s two run double. The hitting was contagious as Bryan Reynolds hit a solo HR and Starling Marte , fresh of the injured list, followed suit with a two run HR in the 11th.

The second and final game of the interleague series comes this afternoon at 2:05 with Jameson Taillon expected to pitch. But some bad news for Pittsburgh, as Francisco Cervelli left Tuesday’s game with an injury, as a pitch hit the catcher in the left wrist. Two batters later, Cervelli was replaced by Elias Diaz and is considered day-to-day.
