Emergency Crews Respond to Friday Morning Accident

Emergency workers pull fire hose toward a burning vehicle while another fireman assesses the situation of a Friday morning accident.

A Friday morning accident shortly before 7AM took the life of a 19-year-old man from Manassas, VA.

The unidentified victim was found in the driver’s seat of a 2000 Ford Mustang that had driven off the road at the cloverleaf intersection of State Route 28 and US Route 422 in East Franklin Township. The car came to rest in a brushy area of the cloverleaf. The car caught fire and the driver perished inside.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by East Franklin Police Department and the Armstrong County Coroner’s Office. A name will be released once positive identification is made. A name will be released once positive identification is made.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by Coroner Brian K. Myers. An autopsy was performed to determine the cause and manner of death.
