Manor Township Plans Meeting About Fort Run Park

Manor Township supervisors Tag Hecker, Bob Southworth, and Don Palmer are hoping township residents will come out to a town hall meeting at the Manor Township Fire Hall on January 29 to give input to Fort Run Park improvements.

A meeting to gain input to the future of Fort Run Park is being planned by Manor Township supervisors.

The town hall meeting is scheduled for January 29 at 7PM at the Manor Township Fire Hall.

“We are trying to get a committee finalized to work with the fire department and the park because of the parking that is available down there belongs to the fire department,” Chairman Don Palmer said. “We are also trying to generate public interest to participate in giving us public input on how they want to see the park developed, (and) the kind of playground equipment they want in there. We would like to get any public input we can. We are tyring to get as many Manor Township residents involved. We would like to get Parent-Teacher organizations involved.”

The Armstrong 8U and 11U have already been approved to use the Park from 5-7 PM on Wednesdays and 10-Noon on Saturdays, and 11AM-1PM on Sundays from April through September 2019.

“We have a whole lot more who are interested,” Palmer said.

Supervisors approved applying for a DCNR grant for park equipment. Suggestions made from the public could be included in the application.
