RECAP: Pittsburgh Vocalists Bring Melodies to Worthington

The Pittsburgh Shape Note Singers presented a concert last night at the Worthington Lutheran Church. Their style of a cappella voices is an old folk American singing practice. Appalachian musicians were a key influence on the early development of old-time music, country music, and bluegrass, and were an important part of the American folk music revival of the 1960s. The church has two cultural events per year, in the Spring and Autumn as part of their “Sundaes on Sunday” event.
