LOCAL SPORTS: W/K Stangs Fall to North Hills for First Time in 7 Meetings

Reese Matson came on in relief for the Stangs going 3 1/3 innings while giving up five runs. He also had one of the two Stangs hits during the game.

Wednesday night at the Worthington-West Franklin Civic Center was a night to forget for the W/K Stangs. The suffered a big defeat to the North Hills Indians.

North Hills Indian Steven Miller heads home after his 2nd home run in as many innings.

They fell behind early in the first 2 innings 10-0, thanks to 2 homeruns from North Hills shortstop Steven Miller and a grand slam from Tyler Zozos. They went on to fall to the Indians with a final score of 13-0 in just 5 innings.

The Stangs split the season series with the Indians having won their last meeting by the score of 6-4. Previous to this game, WK had beaten them the past seven times they met in the regular season.

Coach Nate Falchetti says he is excited about the next few weeks of games as they get closer to playoffs and players get home from family vacations.

WK Stangs are now 7-2 (6-1 in the section) on the season. The next game will be at the Civic Center field on Sunday, June 24th at 3PM against Hampton.
