OBIT: Michael Markilinski (formerly of Ford City)

MARKILINSKI Michael J. Markilinksi, 61 of Crescent Township, Allegheny County, died Saturday, May 12th, 2018 in Pittsburgh, PA.

Born June 3rd, 1956 in Kittanning, Michael was son of Joseph Markilinksi and Phyllis Liberto-Sirochman (Markilinski).

Michael was employed as an area manager at Health Port-Croix. He was a member Christ Prince of Peace Parish.

He enjoyed Photography, Saturdays in the Strip District, doing good for others, liked shopping at Costco, loved the City of Pittsburgh, local music, sports teams, and community service.

Michael was also the Co-Founder of Ford City Youth Football. He was very active in fund raisers for many children with disabilities, he was very active in his community with the Heritage Days Entertainment Committee, Ford City Council, Founder of the Ford City Ambulance Service, One of the Founders For Can. He was on the Parade and Fireworks Committee. Also Manor Ford Development Coach & ran CYO for many years. He was a school board member and former President of the Armstrong County School Board. Lifetime member of the Ford City Fire Department & EMT for many years. Former member of Guardian Angel Ambulance Service.

He adored his only granddaughter Isabelle.

He enjoyed attending sporting events and musicals for his nieces. He also enjoyed the Oakmont Bakery. Loved attending concerts, especially Kenny Chesney for his birthday and local Corbin-Hanner Band. He attended Super Bowl 43 with Rob at Tampa Bay and organized bus trips to various Steeler games in the area.

He adored his nieces and nephews on both sides of the family, especially Great Nephew (Bo) Bowen William Mohney (Bo Jackson). He also ran Michael Michael Motorcycle Production.

Survivors include Mother Phyllis, Daughter Erin (Tim) Kupa, granddaughter Isabella of Crystal Lake Illinois. Sons Timothy Markilinski and Steven (Beebo) Markilinksi, of Ford City. Sisters, Maureen (Gregg) Hooks ,of Decatur Illinois, Lisa (Robert) Mohney, of Ford City. Brother Gary (Rose) Markilinski, of Ford City. Step Brother William (Cindy) Sirochman, of Ford City.

He was preceded in Death by his Step Father William Sirochman.

Visitation will be held at Mantini Funeral Home Inc, 701 Sixth Ave, Ford City Wednesday May 16th from 2-4PM and 7-9PM. A prayer service will be held Thursday May 17th at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Christ Prince of Peace Parish Thursday May 17th at 10:00AM with Fr. Ricky Cortez officiating. Place of Interment will be St. Mary’s Cemetery.
