State Police Warn of Fraudulent Calls

KITTANNING – The Pennsylvania State Police have investigated an incident where a call was received from someone stating they work for West Penn Power.

The caller stated that the individual’s power was going to be shut off due to various reasons. The victims were informed to obtain multiple MoneyPak gift cards and give the caller the card information when they were called back.

The State Police suggest that anyone receiving such calls should contact West Penn Power and verify the information that told to them by the caller. Never give out information on the phone. Then contact your local police department.
