A Kittanning man has died after his truck slammed into a house on 5th Avenue Extension in Manor Township.

77-year-old John Paul Marcinek was pronounced dead by Armstrong County Coroner Brian Myers shortly after his arrival at ACMH Hospital.

Myers said the accident happened around 5:30 PM last night. Marcinek’s 2005 Chevrolet Colorado left the roadway and struck the home of Gayle Weaver. The vehicle went through the basement wall and into a garage area where Weaver normally parks her car and plays with her grandchild, Weaver had just got home from work, and went to visit a friend when she received the phone call that someone had crashed into her home. Weaver stayed last night with family members as she awaits a report to determine if the structure is sound enough to live there while repairs are being made.

Pennsylvania State Police said Marcinek was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The investigation continues.
