The West Shamokin Wolves varsity girls volleyball team continues their chase for a state championship after defeating New Hope-Solebury in five sets on Saturday at Shippensburg High School.

The Wolves clinched the first set 26-24 in a close back and forth contest. The next two sets, however went to New Hope-Solebury 25-14 in set two and then 25-20 in set three.

West Shamokin was able to rally back in the fourth and fifth set. Needing to win the fourth set to advance to the game deciding fifth set, the Wolves did just that. The fourth was 25-20 followed by the Wolves fifth set 15-13 win.

The Wolves are just one game away from the PIAA 2A Championship at Richland High School, but first they have to travel to State College High School to take on Delone Catholic who are coming off a three set win over Holy Redeemer.

The Semi-Final game is set for Tuesday, November 14 at 7:00 PM.
