Camp Gutted by Fire in Washington Township

WASHINGTON TWP – Fire crews responded to a fire at a camp shortly after midnight last night at in Washington Township.

According to Fire Chief Pete Bowser, the camp was part of the Allegheny Riverside Association. He described it as a “total loss”. No one was in the structure at the time the fire started. The fire marshal was notified.

Crews from Washington Township, East Franklin, Applewold, Sugarcreek and Worthington were called. Kittanning Hose Co #1 sent manpower. Rayburn and Chicora tankers were summoned in case drawing water from the Allegheny River was not possible.
