West Shamokin Volleyball Advances to District Semi-Finals

The West Shamokin Wolves won their first round PIAA District 6 playoff match-up on Monday, and Tuesday they repeated their success defeating Central Cambria 3-2 in 5 sets.

It was a back and forth contest throughout the evening with West Shamokin winning the first set 25-14, Central Cambria won set two 25-22, the Wolves won the third set 25-22, Central Cambria forced a fifth and final set after winning the fourth 25-15, and West Shamokin bounced back in the fifth winning 15-13.

On the day, Olivia Fusaro (pictured) recorded 12 kills and 7 digs, Rylee Riggle had 12 kills, Riley Prugh had 7 digs and 2 aces, and Abby Oesterling finished with 30 assists.

West Shamokin will be back at home for their semi-final match-up against Cambria Heights. The Wolves will be home, because they are seeded #6 and Cambria Heights is ranked #10. Game time is set for 7:00 PM.
