The Armstrong River Hawks girls varsity volleyball team will be moving on to the WPIAL 4A Semi-Finals at a site yet to be determined after defeating Upper Saint Claire 3-2 in five sets on Tuesday.
The River Hawks found themselves down early after dropping the first set 25-18. Armstrong bounced back in the second set winning 26-24 before Upper Saint Claire took the third set 25-17. The River Hawks would rally and win the final two sets – 25-23 in the fourth set and 15-6 in the final set.
Kenzie Lasher (pictured) had an astounding game, recording 23 kills and 43 digs. Loryn Bowser had a good game as well finishing with 15 kills and 22 digs, Danielle Kunst had 16 diggs, and Delaney Mazur assisted on 47 points for the River Hawks Tuesday night.
It is undetermined where the River Hawks will play, but Thursday’s WPIAL 4A Semi-Final game against Seneca Valley will mark the farthest point in the post-season they have made it, but they still have their eyes set on the finals.
