The Armstrong River Hawks varsity soccer team will look to rebound after suffering a 9-0 section loss to Hampton Tuesday afternoon.
The River Hawks had a few opportunities in the game to cut into the lead. In the first half, Armstrong trailed 2-0 and had a chance to draw closer, but the shot ricocheted off the post and found its way away from the visitors net.
Armstrong will have until Thursday before their next game and Head Coach Dakoda Fickes has a few things for the team to work on in the mean time.
The River Hawks will try to bounce back in their away game at Knoch, Armstrong’s senior captian Zac Steiner says they just have to move on from their loss to Hampton.
“I think on Thursday we just have to forget about it (the loss to Hampton) and work on the things that we did wrong so we’re ready for Thursday,” Steiner said.
Next week the River Hawks will have three big games that could determine their eligibility for post-season play, Steiner says it’s all about taking it one game at a time.
“I think we’re just going to take it one game at a time and worry about the team at hand. We just have to work on scoring more goals,” Steiner said.
