The Armstrong River Hawks (4-5-0) traveled to the Baierl Ice Complex in Warrendale Monday night to take on the North Allegheny Tigers (7-1-1) where Armstrong’s Jace Reric scored two goals, but the River Hawks lost to the Tigers 8-2.
Like in the River Hawks’ last game against Peters Township, Armstrong failed to get on the board early and let up four goals in the first period to fall behind 4-0.
North Allegheny Forward and PIHL Class AAA leading scorer Dawson Richerd (22 points on the season) tallied a five point night with a hat trick and a pair of assists.
Armstong’s Jace Rearic found the back of the twine twice with a goal in the second and third periods – Brock Schrecengost assisted on the first goal, Kooltyn Livengood and Jacob Gross assisted on the second Rearic goal.
Jace Rearic now leads Armstrong in goals with six and is tied with Zachary Kutch (4 goals 5 assists) in points for the team with 9.
Armstrong will have the rest of this week to practice before travel back to the Baierl Ice Complex to take on Bethel Park (4-3-1) – the River Hawks have gone 1-1 this season against Bethel Park this season. Start time for the game is 9:00 PM.
