The West Shamokin Wolves varsity basketball programs are looking forward to their first season in the Heritage Conference and Wednesday morning the excitement heightened when two boys varsity players and two girls varsity players answered questions about the upcoming season.

Trent Tedesco (senior), Mike Spera (senior), Andrea Orlosky (senior), and Olivia Fusaro (junior) along with Head Coaches Jud McCullough (boys’) and Frank Nagy (girls’) represented West Shamokin at media day along with players and coaches from the rest of the Heritage Conference.

Yesterday the two sections in the Heritage Conference were announced – the North Section and South Section.

West Shamokin was placed in the North along with Marion Center, Northern Cambria, Penns Manor, and Purchase Line while the South includes Blairsville, Homer-Center, Ligonier Valley, Saltsburg, and United.

The Wolves will play each team in their section (North) once at home and once away while they will only play the teams in the South Section once during the regular season.

Both teams will start their season Friday, December 9 at Armstrong’s Tip-Off Tournament.
