Dennis R. Buterbaugh, 53, of Sagamore, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot, PA.
He was born April 6, 1962 in Purchase Line, PA, the son of Harvey and Evangeline (Creek) Buterbaugh.
Dennis graduated from Purchase Line High School in 1981 and was a resident of Sagamore since 2001. He formerly worked for 10 years in the facilities department at the Indiana Mall. For the past 12 years he worked in the facilities department at First Commonwealth Bank where he received numerous awards and special recognitions. Dennis loved being outdoors and spent much of his free time working on landscaping in his yard. He also enjoyed riding ATVs and snowmobiles. Above all, Dennis loved spending time with his family and he will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
His memory will be cherished by his loving wife, Diane S. (Waltenbaugh) Buterbaugh, whom he married October 25, 2008; daughters, Denise Wyer and husband, Shaun, and Bobbie Jo Hunkler and husband, Mike, all of Marrero, LA; step-sons, Scott Lute and wife, Paula, of New Bethlehem, and Nicholas Lute and wife, Kelly, of Rural Valley; grandchildren, Landon Wyer, Alexis Wyer, Brantley Wyer, Emilie Hunkler and Keegan Lute; and brothers, Robert Buterbaugh and wife, MaryAnn, of Indiana, PA, Kenny Buterbaugh and wife, JoAnn, of Clymer, and Richard “Rick” Buterbaugh and wife, Arlene, of Commodore; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Don and Eddie Buterbaugh.
Relatives and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home in Elderton. Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Monday, September 28, 2015 at Christ Lutheran Church, 205 Gastown Rd., Shelocta, with the Reverend Joyce Dix-Weiers officiating. Burial will be in Elderton Cemetery, Elderton, Pennsylvania.
