David Stanley McLaughlin, 83 of 803 Red Mill Road, Kittanning passed away at his home surrounded by his family on April 10th, 2015.
Born February 15, 1932, in Turtle Creek, PA, he was a son of Sloan A. and Mildred V. Hodgan McLaughlin.
He has formerly worked for Westinghouse Power, Armstrong School District, and Shriver Bus Transportation Services. David also owned and operated Suburban Painting Co.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Air Force.
He was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge #203 and VFW, both in Kittanning.
In retirement, David enjoyed his passion for gardening, farming, boating, fishing, hunting, watching all kinds of sports and he also enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife: Ardel M. McFeater; his three children: his son: Scott K. McLaughlin; two daughters: Dixie Lee (Alan) Worobey of Slippery Rock, PA and BethAnn (Timothy) Myers of Kittanning; and 11 grandchildren: Steven, Kevin, Samantha, Spencer, Jonathan, David, Clayton, Alexandra, Abraham, Richard and Christopher; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother: Kenneth S. McLaughlin (formerly from Port Allegany, PA).
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 13, 2015, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, in Rural Valley. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Burial will take place in the Rural Valley Cemetery.
