An East Franklin Township burglary suspect will be within an Armstrong County courtroom this morning for his preliminary hearing.
Jimmy Dean Walker, 23, is accused of burglarizing a North Buffalo Township home about 6:45PM August 15 and smashing a man door window with a brick, consuming alcohol and shooting out landscaping lights with a .22 caliber-Remington rifle.
State Police in Kittanning identified Walker due to witness identification. Individuals reportedly saw Walker walking along the roadway intoxicated and provided a description matching his. Crime scene processing and further interviews confirmed their suspicion.
Walker was taken into custody without incident that evening and admitted to the offense before state police troopers. He was then arraigned by District Magisterial Judge Samuel Goldstrohm and committed to the Armstrong County Jail.
Walker is currently still incarcerated since he was unable to post the $20,000 bail. Four charges are levied against him, including: second-degree felony criminal trespass, third-degree misdemeanor disorderly conduct and second-degree recklessly endangering another person, as well as burglary while the township homeowner was present.
The preliminary hearing will be held in Ford City Borough before District Magisterial Judge Gary DeComo at 9AM.
Leonard Younkins, 59 of Freeport – accused of felony-aggravated assault and misdemeanor recklessly endangering another person in South Buffalo Township August 12 – has his preliminary hearing before Judge DeComo at the same time.
