Darrell S. Hepler, 73 of Tarentum – formerly of the Walkchalk area – died Friday, February 22, 2013 at the Allegheny Valley Medical Center.
He was born July 31, 1940 in Kittanning to John S. and Anna G. (Helm) Hepler.
Darrell served in the National Guard and worked in the dairy department at Foodland until his retirement.
Darrell was a member of the Franklin Union Baptist Church in Worthington, where he formerly served as a deacon.
He was an organ donor and enjoyed antique John Deere’s and antique cars.
Darrell is survived by his wife, Roberta (Simon) Hepler of Tarentum; son, Scott Hepler of Worthington; four brothers: Donald Hepler and fiance Sharon Miller, Richard (Susan) Hepler, Larry (Bonnie) Hepler and Dean (Beth) Hepler – all of Kittanning; step-daughter, Danica; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Joanne (Claypoole) Hepler; daughter, Shelby Papciak; and son-in-law, Eddie Papciak.
Family and friends will be received from 5:30PM until the time of a memorial service at 6:30PM Thursday, February 28, 2013 at the Franklin Union Baptist Church in Worthington.
The Rev. Jones will officiate.
Interment will be private. Arrangements are provided by the Mantini Funeral Home in Ford City.
