An Ontario, California man is held on $100,000 bond in the Armstrong County Jail after a Pennsylvania State Police investigation revealed he had sex with a 17-year-old Washington Township girl.

Timothy Rodenius, 31 admitted to having relations with the girl and traveled to Armstrong County after talking with her for about two years over the Internet. Communication indicated they had romantic feelings toward each other.

He also admitted to recording the sexual intercourse and exchanging nude photographs.

According to the criminal complaint filed by a state trooper assigned to the East Franklin Township police barracks, Rodenius knew the girl – identified in the document as KF – was under 18 years old and told her he was 19. Rodenius later said he was 22.

The acts took place Monday, August 6 and Tuesday, August 7 inside a room of the Quality Inn Motel in West Kittanning Borough, unbeknownst to KF’s parents, who reported her missing on Tuesday. Police found her in the hotel at 6:40PM.

Based on a child sexual abuse search warrant, state police entered the hotel room and found several pieces of camera equipment – including a digital video and still camera, a black light fixture and a tripod – leather restraints, hand cuffs and multiple pieces of intimate apparel.

A digital storage card was also seized with multiple video recordings.

Rodenius is charged with two felony counts – filming of the sexual intercourse and child pornography – and two misdemeanor counts of corruption of minors. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, August 15 before District Magisterial Judge James Owen.
