OBIT: G. Elaine Wadding Bartek (Dayton)

G. Elaine Wadding Bartek, 83, of Dayton, passed away peacefully, Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Kittanning Care Center.

She was born March 2, 1928 in Cowanshannock Township to Clarence B. and A. LaRue (O’Harrow) Cogley.

Elaine lived in the Dayton area most of her life except for seven years she spent in Ford City in the 1990s. She was a member of Dayton Glade Run Presbyterian Church and was active with the Dayton Senior Citizens Center. Sewing was one of her favorite hobbies, and she also enjoyed doing craftwork. Elaine devoted her life to caring for her family and they will always remember her loving spirit.

Her memory will be cherished by her son, Randall E. (Margaret) Wadding of Greensburg; daughter, Sonja (Todd) Cornish of Dayton; five grandchildren: Jeff and Brian Wadding, Todd L. and Michael Cornish, and Camala Lucas; and nine great-grandchildren.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Blaine E. Wadding, who died January 29, 1983; second husband, Steve J. Bartek, who died November 18, 1997; and sister, Marietta Sherry.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at the Bauer-Bly Funeral Home in Dayton.

Additional visitation will be held from 10AM until the time of funeral services at 11AM on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Dayton Glade Run Presbyterian Church, 2540 Dayton Smicksburg Rd., Dayton, with Rev. Tom Spiker officiating.

Interment will be at Dayton Glade Run Presbyterian Cemetery in Wayne Township.
