Escaped Teen Commits Retail Theft

A 14-year-old female escaped a youth home located on North Warren Avenue in Apollo Borough after being committed Monday.

The teen was tracked to Fuellland in Washington Township, Westmoreland County where she was taken into custody by troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police Kittanning barracks. Upon searching her, the officers found that she had stolen food items from the Fuelland amounting to $13.

The girl is to be charged with escape in Armstrong County and a non traffic citation for retail theft was filed before Magisterial District Judge Elise Glenn. The girl was returned to the youth home.
