Pennsylvania State Police are continuing their search for a robber that held up the First National Bank in Rural Valley.

According to bank employees, the robber identified as a light skinned man, possibly Hispanic, between five-feet six inches and five-feet eight inches entered the bank shortly before 3:30 yesterday afternoon and demanded money from the teller.

The robber is described as a male wearing a Steelers jersey with the number 45, dark sunglasses, camouflage pants, and a hat with either the AFC Championship or Super Bowl logo. He was also wearing a white long-sleeve shirt and weighed approximately 140 pounds.

He took an undisclosed amount of money from the bank and was last seen fleeing the scene on foot and perhaps got into an older white Pontiac vehicle.

Jennifer Reel, Vice-President and Director of Communications for the bank’s headquarters in Hermitage, Pennsylvania said the staff at their Rural Valley branch followed bank procedures.

“Our staff follows proper procedures in these instances. Of course, our primary concern is the welfare of our employees and customers,” Reel said.

Reel could not confirm if there were customers in the bank at the time of the holdup.
