Zelma Lucovich
Zelma M. Lucovich, 87, of Worthington, died on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.
She was born on May 14, 1923, in North Buffalo Twp, PA, the daughter of Ralph and Eva (Simmers) McClanahan.
Mrs. Lucovich was a former member of the Center Hill Church of the Brethren. Zelma along with her husband, Joe, enjoyed traveling and visiting relatives. She had a passion for cooking, sewing, quilting, and dancing to polka and country music. The time most precious to Zelma was that spent with her family, especially her grandson who meant everything to her.
She will best be remembered for being an outstanding homemaker. She devoted herself to her family by giving constant care and guidance and took great pleasure in being a grandma.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory a husband, Joseph M. Lucovich with whom she shared 61 years of marriage; a daughter, Darla Lane and husband Timothy of Ross Twp., Pittsburgh; a grandson, Ryan Lane; a sister, Jessie Beers and husband Clair of Kittanning; numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws on her husband’s side.
Zelma was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, K. Carl McClanahan, George W. “Pete” McClanahan, Robert E. “Eight” McClanahan, and Dale E. “Six” McClanahan; and a sister, Hazel I. McKelvey.
Relatives and friends may visit from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Thursday, September 9, 2010, at the Bauer Funeral Home in Kittanning.
Funeral Services will be held at 11AM on Friday, September 10, 2010, at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Wes Berkebile officiating.
Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Burial Estates in East Franklin Township.
