OBIT: Ocie Maxine Hooks

Ocie Maxine (Bowser) Hooks, 82, of Adrian, died Sunday, February 21, 2010 in Orlando, Florida.

She was born on June 10, 1927 in Washington Township to Irvin and Sarah (Johns) Bowser. She was a lifelong resident of the area.

She was a homemaker and retired from the Big River Manufacturing plant. She was a member and deaconess of the Brush Valley Brethren Church in Adrian and a member of its Womens Missionary Society. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading and serving God.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Crissman and husband David from Greenville; two sons: Chester Hooks and Randall Hooks both of Adrian; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 36 years Alvin M. Hooks whom she married on September 29, 1980; two sisters: Freda Bectal and Rebecca Ringley; a brother Richard Bowser; and a daughter-in-law Rogina Hooks.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11AM at the Brush Valley Brethren Church, with no additional viewing prior to the service. Pastor Tim Lewis and Pastor Vincent Edwin will officiate.
