Cars Collide in Plumcreek Township

A crash occurred Thursday afternoon on Route 422, approximately two miles west of Elderton Borough in Plumcreek Township.

Elmer Sorisio of Indiana was driving his 1998 Chevrolet Malibu eastbound on Route 422. Danielle DeBoyace of Indiana was driving westbound in her 1999 Honda Civic. As Sorisio was traveling uphill in a three-lane area in the left passing lane passing another vehicle, he attempted to look over his shoulder to check to see if he could get back over into the right lane. At that time, he lost control of his vehicle and spun out of control into the oncoming lane of traffic and struck DeBoyace’s vehicle.

DeBoyace sustained minor injuries and was transported to Indiana Regional Medical Center in a Citizen’s Ambulance.  Sorisio was not injured.

Both vehicles were damaged and disabled and were towed from the scene. The Elderton Fire Department assisted with traffic during the incident. Sorisio was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
