Local Visionary Plans County-Wide Benefit

Stephen Heffner is entering the planning stages for an all-day County-Wide Benefit Concert which is planned to take place on March 20 and be called “Armstrong County Bands Together for Haiti.”

“The vision is for every community to sponsor an event on March 20,” said Heffner. “I thought we should be able to do something as a County focusing on one day.”

Heffner is hoping to get businesses, law enforcement agencies, firefighters, schools, and government officials to participate in the event. Participation can come in the form of time, fundraisers, entertainment, donations etc… “I’m planning to talk to the mayors and see what they can do,” said Heffner. “I don’t want this to just take place in Kittanning and Ford City. I’d like to see every community do something for this benefit on March 20.”

So far, Heffner has booked two bands and space in Ford City’s 10^th Street Station. He is looking for many other bands and entertainers to get involved. Anyone who is interested in participating in or helping for this event should either call 724-763-1028 or 724-763-1612.
