RIZZO: Thanksgiving Leftovers

Here a few quick stories I wanted to comment on.

First off, Apollo Ridge’s plan to spend over $3 million to redo their football field is crazy. It’s a game day-only facility; they practice at the high school, so they don’t need huge locker rooms. Certainly they need new lights and other updates, but wow… $3m.

Now to the big Pitt vs. WVU game. This is West Virginia’s bowl game. I’m certain they’ll be ready for Pitt.

The WPIAL High School Football Championships are today at Heinz Field. If you can only watch one game, I think I would go with the West Allegheny vs. Hopewell game, due to its starpower. Fan voting on RizzoSports.com has Clairton, Aliquippa, Hopewell, and Gateway as the favorites.
