OBIT: Pearl C. Branan

Pearl C. Branan, 87, of Kittanning, died Thursday, November 19, 2009 in the Armstrong County Health Center.

Pearl was born on August 19, 1922 to Frank and Edna (McEuen) Gilliland and lived her life in Armstrong County as a homemaker.

She enjoyed socializing and playing bingo, watching TV, listening to country-western music, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a big collector of angels.

She is survived by her daughter: Rosalie (and Jerry) Brink of Worthington; two sons: James (and Lidebell) Grates of Kittanning, and Timothy (and Jan) Grates of Adrian; fifteen grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawson J. Grates; her second husband, John Brink; her third husband, Robert Branan; three daughters: Diane Brink, Linda Shreffler, and Beverly Elaine (who died in infancy); a brother James Gilliland; and a sister Dorothy Johns.

Friends will be received from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 PM Monday, November 23 in the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning, where services will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, November 24. Burial will take place in the Kittanning Cemetery.
