KLINE: Heal Our Land

 by Abraham Kline

Last week my church had a week of meetings. There was singing, shouting, and preaching. (Yup, I am “one of those.”) During the week the preacher gave a message that truly spoke to me, not only as a Christian, but as an American.

The preacher talked about our nation and the many prblems that are currently going on in it. He agreed with the fact that America defenitly needs God in order to turn save our nation from the many troubles that are currently at large and growing, but mentioned the fact that there is a “contingency clause” that must occur before we as a nation can receive help from God. The main focus of the message was that we, as Americans, must first get a burden to see America change in a positive way.

In other words, unless we decide in our hearts to see this change, chances of it becoming a reality are futile. We can hope, but without the willingness to take a stand for our liberties and guard our freedoms, we have no hope. I don’t mean to get all “JESUS” on you, but the Bible says that unless “…humble ourselves and pray and seek (God’s) face, only then will God heal our land.” If we are willing to put aside the apathy that binds us to the acceptance of dependency, will we truly be free.

We can hope for a difference from political personalities and even hope that God will do something. But until our hearts are willing to truly accept God’s will and are willing to try and make a difference, it won’t happen. If we do, I believe without doubt that God will heal our land.

    Definitely, America needs God.
But, America decades ago began to reject God.
Even though He is loving, He is just.

America will be held accountable by Him.

In the meantime, we pray for Him to hear us.
In the meantime, we read His Word to hear from Him.

We must do this to understand global events to come.
