KLINE: Capping Our Trade

Hello again, this is your old friend, ready to talk a little more about what’s going on in the world of news. If you are not a celebrity, you may rest assured that you survived the past week.
However, if you have heard any of the ideas proposed in the cap and trade bill, you probably wish you had not been a survivor.
Yes, it seems our little friends in Washington are at it again, with more big spending that will result in higher taxes. Its been reported that the effects of this bill could result in higher electric bills, harm our domestic oil companies, increase government involvement in our lives, not to mention an increase in unemployment. But other than that, this bill is fool- proof, right?
Although it was promised that most Americans would not see an increase in taxes, the proposed cap and trade bill will greatly increase the cost of American convenience.
According to this bill, the govern-ment will be able to ration and tax nearly everything we do that can outlet carbon emissions.
Therefore, it now seems that our government is not only going to punish success through their stimulus bill, but are now going to punish work and convenience through their new cap and trade bill.
This bill has already passed in the House of Representatives, and if passed in the Senate, will inevitably be signed into law by the president.
This bill must be stopped and needs American opposition through contact with your local senator. If it cannot be stopped, I’m afraid the idea of Independence Day may one day be forgotten.
